"No Joined up services"

About: Rosebank Surgery

It seems if you want to see your own GP about something semi urgent, you simply cant. The reception then do there best to accommodate your need and provide a service, but you end up seeing 3-4 different doctors. Some are helpful and some of then are rude and ask you to see your own GP for consistent care. Seem you as a practice need to decide which it is. Either you can see any GP or you must see your own. Either way you have a lot of work to do to correct your GP's who are rude and also the way you communicate how best to get an appointment from your system. You need to help yourself as well as ask your patient for help to keep appointments. Its all to easy to blame the patient that don't turn up, the lack of money which are all valid point, but if you cant get the communications right and let patients know if they must see there own doctor or as you staff and comm's currently say you can see any doctors.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you have found some of the staff at Lancaster Medical Practice to be rude and that you have recently received mixed messages with regard to our appointments system. It is always difficult to get the right balance between providing urgent appointments and ensuring continuity of care and we are currently working hard to address this balance. If you would like to contact me to discuss this matter further please email lmp.reception@gp-p81002.nhs.uk and leave your contact details so that I can follow it up with you in person.

Kind regards
