Visiting Colliers Court in Cinderford was my first experience of a NHS mental health center and voluntarily, it will be my last.
Because of suicidal thoughts, I was referred urgently by my GP to see a consultant psychiatrist. The experience was truly awful in every way. His attitude was upsetting, disinterested, dismissive and arrogant. I felt totally unable to talk to him at what should have been an opportunity to get help. At the end of the appointment, I was discharged with no follow-on care.
I was shocked to read other reviews here of 2gether, mine is obviously not an isolated case and I am deeply saddened that those who are still suffering here have no choice but to stay in the system. Mercifully I have since seen another consultant outside of the trust who could not have been more helpful, considerate and pro-active.
I provided feedback to the consultant, PALS and the service. PALS although communicative have not resolved the situation, a formal complaint is in progress.
However unwell I may be now or am in the future, I will not return to using this service and would not recommend you to use it either.
"A truly awful experience"
