"Stroke Care"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC Hull Royal Infirmary / General Medicine Hull Royal Infirmary / Stroke Care

(as a carer),

I week in HRI Stroke Unit, months in community hospital. Very little support for rehabilitation out of hospital. I believe Stroke Services need massive investment. Only 1 stroke physio covering the whole of East Riding, Lucky if I get any support on discharge. Expected to buy my own rehab.

Please accept my apology that you have felt unsupported, since you left East Riding Community Hospital. We are currently in discussion with the East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in order to develop the Stroke service in the East Riding. Currently we are able to offer patients a safe discharge out of hospital, but do seek to improve this service.

I will pass on your concerns to the CCG, however, I would be grateful if you could contact me either by phone or in writing to discuss your individual case.

Hello

We noticed your post and thought you may be interested to hear about the work of the Stroke Association and how we may be able to support you. We are the leading charity in the UK changing the world for people affected by stroke.

Our Stroke Helpline is there for anyone who has been affected by stroke. You may want to know more about stroke and its effects, be looking for practical information and support, or simply need someone to talk to. The Stroke Helpline is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday from 10.00am to 1.00pm. The helpline number is 0303 30 33 100. You can also email us at helpline@stroke.org.uk.

Finally, you can also find lots of information about stroke on our website at www.stroke.org.uk. There is news about our campaigns to improve services for stroke survivors, national and local events and our research programmes.

We also have My Stroke Guide, which is an online support tool, designed to support stroke survivors, family members and carers 24 hours a day. Easy-to-read information, advice and videos from the Stroke Association explain everything you need to know about stroke. Our chat forum can connect you to our online community, to find out how others manage their recovery and to a dedicated section for family and friends. You can find out more and self-register by clicking the following link www.mystrokeguide.com

I hope that this is helpful and that you are now getting the support that you need to make the best recovery possible.
