"Thank you from the bottom of my heart"

Dear East Surrey - 

I just wanted to say thank you for the care I received over the past few weeks, mainly on Capel Annexe Ward. I was admitted directly from A and E and do not have anything to complain about. Even the food was above the standard I would have expected. The ward was clean and calm and everyone smiled at me and said hello, even cleaners just passing through. 

The physiotherapist and occupational therapist worked very hard with me to get me back on my feet, so thank you. 

While all staff were amazing (and I don't say that lightly, a special thank you to healthcare assistant Rob working on Capel Annexe Ward. I hope I'm allowed to mention names on here. His attitude and compassion toward his patients were beyond anything I have ever seen before. He had all of us grown men crying with laughter with his cheekiness and he even came round and gave everyone of his patients a hug at the end of every shift - if he is representative of your staff, then you are indeed a very lucky hospital, and I am very lucky to live within your area. It is amazing to see your staff thriving after all we hear about in the modern NHS. There was a young man in the same bay whom I believed had learning difficulties. Your nursing staffs relaxed and informal attitude towards him seemed to work so well (Unfortunately the doctors didnt seem able to "click" with him!) and staff would come in from other bays to check up on him and chat with him for a while.

I will be writing to the ward manager but please ensure this message gets back to the ward
