"Unexpected admission to Ward D43"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was admitted to ward D43 as an emergency after a fall at home which resulted in a fractured hip. I had a full hip replacement operation the next day.I want to say most sincerely and with gratitude that the care I experienced from paramedics ,A&E ,Physiotherapy , occupational therapy and most of all the amazing nursing and ancillary ward staff was superb.I was kept informed , given choices and involved in every aspect of my care.I was treated with respect , kindness and compassion by day and night staff who are all a credit to the hospital.

Ensuring patients are kept informed and aware of patient choice is very important to us, so we're glad to hear you were kept in the loop and received kindness and respect throughout your stay.
