"How long is the waiting list for gastroenterology?"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I am only commenting here on how long I am having to wait for a procedure. I underwent a gastroscopy in the unit on 4th December 2018. This confirmed a previous diagnosis made in my local hospital (Salisbury), when I was told that I needed an endoscopic repair. I have heard nothing further, except that on my request I recently spoke to a medical team member who said that I would have to wait `several months' more. Bear in mind that my original diagnosis was back in May 2018, but my local hospital failed to complete the repair for technical reasons and I was referred to Portsmouth. So I have been waiting for resolution of a highly distressing and progressive condition for well over a year so far, and could wait another year from what I have been told. I understand that there are other higher priority patients in the queue, so I wonder whether I will ever get to the front of it.
