"Physio feedback"

About: Babington Hospital

In a similar post to a previous patient complaint at the hospital, 3 separate visits, 6 weeks apart and the physio (young male) failed to assess me in that time, instead focussing on the fact I needed to move more. Did exercises as suggested, no difference in pain and was told in a nutshell that these things happen and I should put up with it. He also told me that back complaints due to bad posture are a myth which I was surprised about. I remain in pain after the physio asked me what I though was wrong with me and concluded I didn't need to be seen again. There was no physical assessment whatsoever and I feel brushed off with an impression made on me of 'pull yourself together' - also being fully aware of my mental health, this was not a positive experience and I am now putting up with the pain and don't feel confident to return for help. I feels to me that the physio did not want to or know what to do and I was fobbed off.

Thank you very much for your feedback, it really helps us to identify and address any areas in which our service does not meet expectations. We are sorry that the physiotherapy you received did not meet your needs on this occasion. Exercise is a large part of treatment for back pain but if you still have pain you can book in for a review at any time. If you would like to return to our service please call our self-referral Therapy Direct telephone number 01335 230079. There are a choice of locations and physiotherapists available who can review your treatment and offer further assessment and treatment as required.

Lucy, Physio Team Lead.
