"Very very frustrating"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

What I liked

Some of the nursing and support staff very friendly and helpful, even though they did not receive any support from the doctors, who only visited once in 3 days

What could be improved

Regular visits by a doctor with the correct specialism to deal with my daughters case. Or the consultant who has been treating her for the last few years. But, as always they were to busy

Anything else?

Anonymity requested as my daughter is still in. Why is it a doctor who is aware of treatment can't take 5 minutes to sort out medication instead of letting the nurses chase them and be in the firing line for Their failings.

Thanks very much for the positive feedback about nursing and support staff and we're sorry that you felt the care from doctors could have been improved. Since last summer, we've done a lot of work to help consultants and other senior doctors spend more time on our wards so they can lead and be directly involved in their patients' care, as well as providing support and guidance to junior colleagues. You don't mention what age your daughter is so this may not be relevant but we have been recruiting additional doctors in many areas including paediatrics.
