"Awaiting surgery"

About: King George Hospital / Vascular surgery

(as the patient),

I am awaiting surgery on an aneurism below the Kidney area plus blocked veins in my left leg.

I attended the pre checks a fortnight before my appointment and was due to have final blood test over a month ago. A letter arrived days before my appointment, cancelling the entry to hospital. A further appointment was made for me to enter hospital weeks later - an early morning appointment. Had the pre-checks done a fortnight before the op date, arranged a blood test. A letter arrives a week before cancelling the operation again.

I phoned as per the request in the letter and the receiving person said that a further appointment will be sent through.

All the staff leading up to the letter of cancellation were absolutely wonderful could not have asked for better. However things have been a little challenging and I thank my company for being so understanding with what has been happening, booking holidays, cancelling holidays, days off for tests and so on, I am 71 years old and still working part time. To say that I am a little upset with the goings on is an understatement. How many times do you think this can happen?
