"Receptionist is rude and irresponsible in..."

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead) / Ophthalmology

After implanting stem cells in my right eye I had an appointment on 09.05.2019. At that appointment, the doctor who examined me wanted to see me again in 4 weeks time. At the end of 4 weeks, I called the receptionist enquiring about my appointment. She rudely replied that there was no appointment. I referred to her about what happened at the previous instance. Also I inquired about the next available date for the appointment. Again she said that "I don't know". Somebody called me after a week and gave me the date for the appointment on 21.06.2019, after 1.5 weeks after the due date. On that day the doctor wanted me to see me again in 2 weeks time. Now, yesterday 01.07.2019, some one called home at 4.00pm while I was away working in the Nursery. My husband answered the call and he was told about an appointment on 02.07.2019, which is less than 24hrs. I have to apply for leave at least 72 hrs prior to the appointment. When my husband told her that I wasn't available and requested for another appointment, she replied that there was none before September 2019. My question is why couldn't she fix this appointment before, rather than waiting till the last moment, leaving me in a difficult situation? If anything goes wrong with my eye, will she take full responsibility for that? When I politely inquired about another appointment she could have said she would look into it give a date. but she abruptly said "I DON'T KNOW" This is sheer rudeness. Please advise her not to do this to any of the patients. Due to the short notice she gave I will not be able to attend today's appointment. Please ask her to gibe another appointment.
