"Impressed by speed of assessment"

About: Hounslow IAPT

(as a service user),

I was impressed by the speed I was contacted by the service for both my assessment and followup appointments for CBT this was much better than I was expecting. The receptionists were very friendly and put you at ease very quickly, I was very nervous about attending and speaking to someone.

My main feedback is it would be good if my therapist saw me on time for my appointments given the anxiety problems that I have. At most of my sessions I was the last one in the waiting area and other therapists would ask who I was waiting for. I do not mind waiting but it did make me feel uncomfortable before the sessions had started each time. Also this was not happening to other patients. I wish there were more sessions as it took time for the therapy strategies to begin and get going.

It's great that you had a short wait for your assessment. We are really aware that short waits for assessment and treatment are a priority for clients. We will continue to do all we can to make the service as efficient as possible.

We have a great admin team who are dedicated to their work and compassionate and sensitive to the needs of the clients who access our service. I will share your feedback with them as they will be really pleased to be reminded of the impact they have on others.

I will share your feedback about timekeeping with the rest of the team. This is very important as repeated lateness will reduce the amount of time you have for therapy overall and is a poor experience for our clients; it is also a very easy problem for clinician's to address.

I wish you all the best and hope that the techniques you have learnt in therapy continue to support you in managing your problems.
