I was referred to the Triage Unit by my GP following a visit to my house by a paramedic. I was checked in and within 5 minutes I was in a treatment room with a very professional and highly competent team. I had an ECG, blood samples were taken and blood pressure. This was approx 16.30-17.00 The team informed me that the next stage would be based on the results of my blood tests. I then moved to a waiting area, where i was seen by another professional team. That area was closing, so all the patients were asked to go to the Emergency waiting room. This was 19.00. No information was provided by what was a very busy team. After 3 hours I asked a senior nurse who told me that the Medical team had me on their list, but they had no access to their information and could not tell me any more. I explained about my previous 24 hours and as I was tired I was going home. There were some very unhappy people in the waiting area; an old lady who was on her own with no water and clearly distressed. When I got home there were a number of withheld number calls, but no messages. Then at 03.50 I was visited by 2 police officers who had been sent by the hospital as they thought I had experienced a heart attack. After the excellent start with Triage, the communication disappeared. Very poor.
