"F1 & F2 Gyne wards"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Gynaecology

From the bottom of my heart I thank you all! After attending the ward for a follow up blood test and having developed pains the nursing staff were amazing with me, I have quite bad anxiety especially in and around hospitals yet they helped me feel at ease straight away. I was also thankfully moved onto a ward out of the was to save me from the hurt of having to sit in a waiting room full of pregnant ladies for the 4 hours id had to previously while suffering what was thought to be a misscarriage. After many tests I was admitted to F1 ward to await surgery (I was petrified!) the nursing staff just kept getting better and did everything they could to calm me down and make me feel at ease, especially since I was in a lot of pain and didn't really understand fully what was going on, they helped me understand and accept that I needed the surgery. Surgery staff... Thank you for everything as things could of been a lot different and you made me comfortable and calm from start to end. On the whole I hate hospitals and will avoid at any cost, sometimes to my own peril, but thanks to the staff on F1 &F2 that has now changed! I'm not the easiest of patients but they changed that and were simply amazing from when I arrived until discharge (all in 24hrs) and even knowing they are there to call if I have any questions a few days later, I could not rate or thank every member of staff enough! The best care you could get!

Thank you for sharing your experience at what must have been an extremely worrying time.

We are pleased to learn of the care, communication and empathy you received during your time on

F1 and F2 Gynaecology Wards at The Royal Oldham Hospital. Our staff constantly strive to provide the best quality care they can and will always support patients in adapting to hospital surroundings, hopefully making them feel calm and less anxious. From your comments it's wonderful to read that our staff achieved this.

The staff on F1 and F2 will be pleased to receive this feedback and we wish you well.

Kind regards

The Patient Experience Team
