Taken by ambulance 28th May 2019 with a badly injured knee that was a suspected dislocation. The only real complaint was when we arrived at the hospital we were not allowed into the unit and told to wait - Along 3 other patients. The ambulance staff were very cross at this, saying this is the only hospital that does this - we waited 8 minutes. I was then wheeled in and assessed - I had gas and air for the ambulance journey but was given an ice pack there. Was then wheeled in a chair over to MINORS and whilst I had to wait in agony, I could see the waiting room was being worked as quickly as possible under difficult circumstances, there was a fight and a very abusive patient to deal with. I seemed to have been waiting for ages but I think it was only 45minutes. When I was taken in the staff were so very nice and kind. I was given a whistle thing for pain relief whilst I awaited an x Ray then when back in the unit I was given gas and air whilst I waited for an Orthopedic doctor. That was the longest I waited but I was checked on regularly given water and made sure I was comfortable. The ortho doc was lovely and also kind and then I was treated quickly and sent home
"Very impressed"
