"Gynaecology department, absolutely horrendous"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Gynaecology

I have given one star as there is no option for minus stars. My experiences with the Gynaecology department have been absolutely horrendous. I have been left in in constant pain 24 hours a day, with none of the pain relief including Morphine giving me any relief. I have been passed around from pillar to post, sent around in circles trying to get help, but received none, since January. There is no compassion or sense of urgency, no matter how much pain you are in and the communication is farcical. I have been left in so much pain, I feel my life is no longer worth. I wish I could fall asleep and never wake up but my pain is 24/7, I am lucky to get 2 hours uninterrupted sleep and my days are spent crying in agony the floor.

I am absolutely exhausted and feel I am close to breakdown through lack of sleep, the insanity of the pain and the way I have been treated. I am currently left with no offers of any kind of treatment, any way forward or investigations into the cause of my pain, just told to make an appointment with the pain management team, which could be months away.

I have been messed around and left waiting for help for so long, that on top of the constant pain, my mental health has been affected and I am facing financial difficulties, being unable to work since February, my employers can no longer pay me sick pay. I have raised my concerns with PALs but have found the less than pro-active. My last conversation ended with their advisor telling me “Yes I do remember you calling and I did write it down in my Diary but to be honest with you I forgot”.
