"Waiting Times"

First of all I would like to say I have the utmost respect and cannot speak highly enough of the NHS.

Unfortunately I have a common condition , everyone has a bad back especially when you have lived your threescore years and ten  so I understand that there is a long waiting list.

It is just very frustrating that the appointment service cannot give you any idea when you will reach the top.

I have been offered a hospital in Salisbury rather than wait any longer but that really would be really hard to manage, 150 miles away

I would be devestated if I accepted Salisbury, which means my son and daughter taking time off work to take me there and help my husband who has  had a stroke, and then found out that I was only a week or two away from my name getting to the top of the list locally.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Care Opinion and I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience waiting for your appointment for your back.

I won't be able to give you any more details at that time but I will be able to ask you for some details so I can discuss your situation with the hospital, and hopefully get more of an idea of how long you will have to wait locally so you can decide where you'd like your appointment.
