My 6-year-old was in hospital for minor surgery as a day case. This is the 6th time he's had this operation (for the removal of lumps in his larynx), which unfortunately needs to be repeated every six months. Every single time we have had to do this, the staff have been absolutely amazing. Kind, supportive, friendly, understanding, clear in their explanations. From pre-op clerking to discharge, everybody -nurses, doctors, student nurses, support staff- has invariably done their best to make my very non-compliant and suspicious son as comfortable as possible. I have felt involved and respected as well as looked after. Hats off to them. With sincere gratitude.
