"Admin response with dealing with requested scan..."

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

My initial feedback after undergoing treatment for a cerebral aneurysm (embolisation) and the immediate aftercare was amazing, and I couldn’t fault my consultant or the nursing team. On the 8th May I visited the hospital MRI neurology dept for my first Scan, 6 months after my procedure. I have now been trying to obtain my scan results and was advised 3 weeks ago that they were ready and I would be called back to discuss my results. Now nearly 3 weeks later I am still waiting to receive my results, despite calling multiple times to try and obtain these. The same person has advised me she would call me back and confirmed she had my phone number but still I have not received any return telephone call.i also contacted my GP surgery who also confirmed that the6 couldn’t get through to anybody having tried several days, I believe today the secretary was able to speak to somebody, I am naturally frustrated and anxious after undergoing this surgery and the post care from the Admin department has caused this by appearing to be very disorganised, not returning telephone calls or following up and ensuring I receive my scan results in a timely manner. I have been very disappointed after previously receiving world class treatment initially during my stay at the hospital.

I am very sorry to hear about the difficulties that you are having in getting your scan results - as you say it's a worrying time and I am sure this doesn't help.

Could I suggest that you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service at Denmark Hill who will try to sort this for you.

You can either phone them on 020 3299 3601 or email with the details kch-tr.PALS@nhs.net
