"Visiting Glasgow"

About: Victoria Hospital / Outpatients

(as a parent/guardian),

In June my daughter had to visit the out patients department at the New Victoria as she had a bad kidney infection. We live in Jersey CI and were visiting Edinburgh to see The Spice Girls and visiting her gran in Glasgow on the Sunday. After suffering all day Saturday and most of Sunday my daughter couldn't cope any longer and we weren't returning home until Monday evening, so we went to the out patients. As we entered reception I was shocked at the amount of people waiting to be seen, after a wait of 3 hours she was given antibiotics and sent on her way.

The reason I am writing is to praise the staff, they did an amazing job that night, I wish I had taken their names to thank them personally. Starting with the lovely receptionist who did an amazing job of dealing with the mass of ill people from little babies to OAP's. she was so lovely and supportive. The nurse who saw her again had the patience of a saint and the young trainee Doctor remained friendly and professional even though we had just been told he might be there for at least another 3 hours.

thank you all for your caring and keep up the good work ( I couldn't do it)
