"The team went above and beyond"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Children's Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

We attended the children’s ward after referral by our Gp. My little boy is prone to respiratory infections and developed a bad wheeze using his accessory muscles which resulted in a hospital visit. On arriving the staff were very friendly and tried their best to reassure my little boy he was okay. He usually cries when staff come to him. The staff listened to what I thought and felt, also took into consideration I am a nurse. They ensured the visit was as pleasant as possible for a toddler who does not like being examined. They also recognized it was his birthday the next day so done their best to get us home and also gave him a birthday present. My little boy got offered toast and yoghurt with juice which he was really pleased with and the day registrar got my little boy an ice lolly which made him really happy. Gillian the nursery nurse and the paediatric registrars from day shift and night shift were amazing. We were given a pass to return within 48 hours if required which is very reassuring.   The team went above and beyond and I cannot thank the team enough for all of their help and support during our visit. We could not ask for better medical staff to look after both my little boy and my partner and I.

Dear Esem

Thank you so much for this feedback. I hope that your wee chap has recovered and is well. I shall ensure this is shared with the nursing and medical staff in Childrens ward.
