"They have been wonderful to me"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I'm here from the United States  for vacation staying with my husband's family. The doctors nurses, cleaning people, everyone has been so kind & caring to me. I'm so thankful to all of you. Joanne has been wonderful to me, went above and beyond doing so many things for me. Of course, being in a different country I really did not know what to expect but my experience was very good.

Even the men who brought me in the ambulance to the hospital were so good to help me up off the floor thinking I might have a stroke said I should be checked out (Stewart, Ian, and Ryan were also so wonderful to me their the men from was gracious & kind to explain things to me 999) She comforted me so much even let me use her phone to call home to my family.

Dear circinusmc89,

Coming in to hospital is such a worrying time never mind being such a long way from home. I can's start to imagine how difficult it must have been for you.

Stroke often happens with no warning and is such a frightening experience. We are fortunate to have excellent paramedics. It is great to hear the compassion they showed allowing you to be able to contact your family. This must have been reassuring to have made that contact.

I am delighted to hear that you found your care to be excellent and staff caring and compassionate at all levels. Joanne will be delighted to read your feedback and there is no doubt she always delivers a high standard of care.

Thanks very much for taking the time to post your feedback. I will ensure this is shared with all the team who will very much appreciate your lovely comments.

I hope you got a chance to see some of Scotland during your visit.

Best wishes for your recovery,

Christine

Dear circinusmc89,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that on your travels you have had the need to use the services of ourselves and our partners in the wider NHS Scotland. I do hope that you are now on the road to a full recovery. I am glad that you are staying with family over here and not been on your own.

I am however very pleased to read about the positive experience you have received from the staff involved. It is always very encouraging to read that staff are caring and act with the professionalism that we would expect. Particularly for patients like yourself who's distance from home must have exacerbated your situation tremendously.

I wish you all the very best and I hope you get home soon!

Kind Regards

Alan
