"Thanks to the Radiographer who spotted my..."

About: Ealing Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited A&E to x-ray a painful wrist and was told no fracture was present and all was okay.

Only it was still very painful.

Two days later, I was telephoned by the hospital to tell me that in fact my bone was abnormal. What I later found out was that the reporting radiographer had spotted a condition that he suspected was a very rare giant cell tumour and red flagged the x-ray.

After many tests, MRI, consultations confirming the diagnosis and surgery at RNOH Stanmore, my wrist is slowly recovering 7 months later. I would like to send a big THANK YOU to this radiographer who did his job exceptionally well!

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your feedback about the Radiographer who appropriately reported your x-ray and ensured that you received timely treatment for the tumour that appeared in the image of your wrist.

I was pleased to learn that you have since undergone the necessary diagnostic tests and surgery at the RNOH and that you are now on the road to recovery.

I will of course share your kind words with the Radiology team as a whole and thank you once again for taking the time to let us know of your appreciation.

Kind regards

Peter Hare
