About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Yesterday I was A& E dept with my husband for over 6 hours.   He had had a mild heart attack and we had to wait for results etc.   The cubical we were in gave me a great view of the goings on in the dept.   Can I just say that I don't know how anyone can complain about any staff working in this department.   The nurses and doctors were excellent, the care and information was exemplary, well done everyone who works here.   there were some difficult patients and not once did I hear any negative muttering from any of the staff.   I would like to thank everyone who helped yesterday and our nurse Rhona, well done everyone.

I am sorry to hear that your husband had to spend so long in the A&E department. It must have been a worrying time for you both. It is therefore really appreciated that you have taken the time to write and share your experience.
