My daughter was admitted to Ward 8 on Monday 27th May, was not permitted to eat or drink and told she’d probably go to theatre later that day after an ultrasound had been done. Later when it was determined no ultrasound would be available that day she was told not to worry and although ct scans are not liked for young women she was on the list for a scan and would then go for surgery. At 11pm she was told that no scan was available so there would be no surgery that night and she could eat something, just after midnight a cheese sandwich arrived with an apple. It all started again on Tuesday, nil by mouth from 2 am an ultrasound at 11am not reviewed until 4:30pm then on the list for a scan, then no scan, still no food, then nil by mouth lifted at 9:30pm. Start it all again on Wednesday, no food from 2am scan scheduled for 1pm, scan taken at 5pm no one available to review scan at all today, eventually permitted to eat at 9ish. Will anything be done tomorrow? No wonder there’s a shortage of beds
"Nil by mouth everyday for 3 days still waiting"
