This surgery used to be excellent. There were always appointments available and emergency appointments were always mitigated well. I am saddened to write that this is unfortunately no longer the case, there is never any routine appointments available with any GP and if you are lucky enough to be offered one, it will be in 3-4 weeks time. Prescriptions... these used to be organised very well. This is no longer the case, I put my repeat prescription in the box at Battle hill on Monday and came to collect it on Thursday, to be told by the obstruct receptionist that nothing had been ordered and since it wasn't on her list of what is 'urgent' I wouldn't be able to have my medication until Monday. As a paramedic, I believe I hold more medical knowledge than a receptionist and an inhaler should most certainly be on the list. The receptionist was very rude and to be quite honest I left the surgery quite upset, because of her attitude. My elderly mother also called the surgery first thing in the morning to get an appointment with a GP, as I advised that she had a chest infection and needed antibiotics. Well.. she had the pleasure of speaking to the same receptionist I had the pleasure of dealing with. I can understand that appointments can't just be pulled from underneath the carpet however, I honestly can't understand how someone could turn someone so vulnerable away. I will be expressing my concerns with the CCG as enough is enough.
