"A & E 26/05"

i Have recently moved in the Barnsley district after living in the Doncaster area for a while. I had been suffering with back pain for a couple of days and thought I’m going to drive to barnsley hospital and see what it’s like there. See if they can offer help. I walked in to a lovely lady on reception who greeted me but also reassured me I could be treated here even though I was still under a Doncaster gp. So she took all my details and sent me into the waiting room. It wasn’t packed but there was quite a few people in there. So to cut I shorter basically my visit there last 2 and half hrs in total. However,

I’m them two and half hrs I was visited and asked to come through twice. The first time was just to ask questions and to see if I needed any pain relief. I mean I have never ever been to an accident and emergency rep that actually cares enough to bring u in whilst you wait for a gp to see if you want some pain relief that as absolutely brilliant you know!!! So then I go back out and wait for the doctor to shout. I go through he assesses me and advises whatt he’s going to do. He told me the relevant medication I would be going home with and asked me to wait in the cubicle. Now in previous experiences at Doncaster you sit for hours waiting for medication it is absolutely terrible there. Not at barnsley, 5 minutes and I was on my way. I am unbelievably happy at how I was treated at barnsley hospital. From the time I entered to the time I left interaction is kept throughout all patients. Even if it’s a 3/4 hr wait they make sure your comfortable and also making sure you feel your not forgot about. All the staff on shift on Sunday the 26th of may that evening I sat and watched u all and personally you all were absolute hero’s. Working together to make it work and there was something methodical how you all work. I can honestly say you have gained one more person on your patient list hahha.
