About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Many people are so quick to put down the NHS in general and the Pilgrim Hospital in particular! I had to attend A&E there yesterday for a potentially serious eye problem.

My GP agreed to see me immediately, created a letter for me to take directly to hospital. Once there, within minutes of arriving, Megan in Triage had seen me and got me an appointment next door in the Royle Eye Department. They had no free slots but 'fitted me in'. I was seen by a specialist (Dr Jalali) about ten minutes later, examined thoroughly and given a prescription for some super strong antibiotics. Sorry I didn't get the names of all involved but I cannot praise them enough. Every single member of staff who dealt with me was helpful, friendly and efficient and ensured that I was attended to swiftly and comfortably. We were all sorted in less than 90 minutes.

Thank you all πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘οΈπŸ‘
