"All the staff were brilliant!"

About: Borders General Hospital / General Surgery (Ward 7)

(as a service user),

I went to the borders general hospital with a severe pain in the side on my stomach. I was first seen by an out of hours GP and then referred to ward 7.  All the staff were brilliant! But 3 stood out to me the most and feel that they went above and beyond not only for my care bit for everyone else's in the hospital. The first was the nurse that seen to me first, Tracey, she was absolutely brilliant could see i was in a lot of pain and did everything she could to help and relieve the pain very preferential and wasn't patronizing which is a big thing for me.

The next person who dealt with me was Dr Singh. What a brilliant doctor. The care and level of knowledge was outstanding once again they went above and beyond with my care helping me with my pain and explaining everything so I understood. Making sure i was updating with what was going on and not left in the dark! A really outstanding doctor indeed.

Lastly Hannah was the last nurse. I was moved to her room where she was mainly looking after me, she was so pleasant and caring and so professional. Was probably the best nurse I saw she was friendly and not patronizing at all. Spoke to you like human and the other patients and not like people who don't understand. Always giving me the information I needed and making sure I was well taken care of since I was kept in over night. So I wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff but these 3 in particular for going above and beyond for the care of your patients. And making my visit as stress free as possible.
