"Thank you for treating my mum with respect"

About: Victoria Hospital / Medicine of the Elderly

(as a relative),

I have previously written about my mother’s admission to admission unit 1 at this hospital.

Thankfully my mum is now home and well on her way to recovery, we would like to thank all the staff who looked after her during her stay in this ward. Thank you for treating my mum with respect and genuine care, it made leaving her everyday bearable knowing she was in safe hands. You are all a shining example of how true nurses should behave you gave my mum the confidence to believe she was worth looking after and recovering to full health. We appreciated all the time all the staff responsible for her care gave to her, nothing was a problem I watched you with other elderly and young patients in her bay and you are all a credit to the nursing profession and proved to me there are still caring compassionate nurses in our profession I hope your managers are rightly proud of you all. Well done all.

Dear Disgusted daughter and nurse,

Thankyou for taking the time to feedback about the care you witnessed your mum receiving whilst in hospital. Such positive feedback will be very motivational for the staff involved and helps to promote the person centred care within the team. It really does make me proud to hear staff being described as respectful, compassionate and giving genuine care. To say that it made leaving your mum everyday bearable knowing she was in safe hands and that it gave your mum the confidence to believe she was worth looking after and recovering to full health, is incredibly complimentary and a great achievement for the team involved. It is something that all nurses strive to achieve and I would be very happy to feed your comments back to the staff involved in your mums care, would you be kind enough to let me know which ward she was cared for in?

Many Thanks again for your kind and encouraging words, it's very much appreciated. I hope your mum is continuing to recover well.

Best wishes

Esther
