"Maternity eternity"

About: Frimley Park Hospital / Maternity care

Parking is inadequate and the ticket machine by car park b has accepted only cash for the entire 9 months we have been visiting for our maternity assessments. We had an appointment at the antenatal unit today that was 30 minutes late and after the midwife saw us, we were asked to wait for a scan. We were told to get a coffee and come back which we did and then waited a further 2 hours before being seen. Understandably this unit is very busy but the receptionist would not give us an indication as to how long we would be waiting for and instead told us we were ‘at the top of the pile’ and we waited a further hour. With better communication and organisation, we would have been able to go and get some food and come back at an appropriate time but instead we sat there indefinitely getting more and more agitated.

This is not the first time we had to wait for an unreasonable amount of time. Over 3 hours on our 3rd visit, over 2 hours on our second visit and about an hour on our first visit.

Dear Anonymous

I am so sorry that you had to wait at each visit to the maternity department, this is not how we wish to run clinics at all as everyone gets frustrated but we get so over booked. The parking is something that frustrates everyone and we are looking at trying to change the parking and system but I am not sure we will get a resolution quickly.. I can only apologise.
