I had an appointment at Moorfields Eye Hospital Clinic 5 on Tuesday 14th May. It was for 10am, I was called by a nurse at 10am for an eye pressure test, then I was told to go back to the waiting room. I waited and then was called in again by a nurse around 11.30am, to have eye drops for pupil dilation. I then went back to the waiting room, it was about 1pm before I could see the doctor, meanwhile my pupils were so dilated I couldn't really see properly. The doctor apologised for the three hour wait and said it was due to overbooking appointments in order to meet targets, she was fed up with talking to patients who were rightly very cross at the unnecessary waiting times. When I had finished with the doctor and got my prescription I attempted to go outside, I was literally blinded by the sunshine, my pupils were so dilated that I couldn't see anything but ultra bright lights, very dangerous don't you think? Why on earth didn't they tell me that before my appointment? And they could suggest I bring sunglasses or someone to come and get me? Its utterly reckless of them. I would never go there again, I though it was a world leading hospital in eye care, but that i just shoddy and unprofessional.
