"Great service from both ambulance and hospital teams"

About: Isle of Wight Ambulance Service St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

(as the patient),

Had an infected hand Sunday night. 4 x normal size, temperature over 103, acute headache, hot and cold shivering and feeling VERY ill. 999 around 10. 45 pm, ambulance 10 minutes later, taken to A and E, straight on antibiotics, pain relief, bloods taken and very caring staff, concerns about sepsis. Stayed overnight, results came back as not sepsis buy more likely cat scratch disease CSD which can cause same symptoms as sepsis. Home on Monday with meds and recovery. Great service from both ambulance and hospital teams. Many thanks to all.

Dear Timmyboy

Thank you for taking the time to post this positive feedback that I have shared with the teams.

I am sorry to read how unwell you were feeling on Sunday, it must have been very scary.

I pleased to read that you received great care from both the Ambulance and Hospital staff to aid your recovery.

I do hope you are continuing to recover well.
