After having an imprint of my foot, measurements taken and a plaster cast made of the foot I reasonably believed that the contractor Skeeter would make me a pair of boots. How silly of me. When the boots arrived they had no soles and had to be sent back to the Skeeter workshops. No sign of quality control checks in place for this to happen; you'd think someone would have noticed When the boots were returned with soles on 26th April I took them home and wore them. By 3rd of May, the small toe on my right foot had been rubbed so much by the new right boot that a cut was developing so I stopped wearing them. On Saturday 4th May I had developed a full-blown diabetic foot ulcer which was weeping and bleeding and infected. As a direct result of this, I have now been prescribed Flucloxacillin Capsules (500mg) and Phenoxymethylpenicillin (250mg). I have to use Biatain and aquacel
AG dressings to treat the wound.
This unnecessary extra cost is a direct result of Skeeter, the current contractor, providing a shamefully unreliable service.
