"New electronic check in system"

About: Budbrooke Medical Centre

I am very happy to see the new e check in system though the signage saying it’s there is poor. BUT I was not expecting to be asked questions about smoking and gen health during this process. The answers are there for the whole waiting room to see. This is completely inappropriate and I can’t quite believe that you are seeking information from patients in such a public way.

This is personal information that I don’t want to share. It’s potential breach of confidentiality in my opinion.

Dear Budbrooke Patient

Thank you for your feedback. We recently installed a new check-in screen at Budbrooke, upon installation we were advised that part of the design is to ask patients information when using the screen and this is common across practices. Based on your feedback I have removed this feature and will now ask for friends and family feedback. I will also find out how a patient can decline to answer any questions. At any time if a patient doesn't feel comfortable using the check-in screen, reception will be more than happy to assist.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback, it has been extremely useful to gauge a patient perspective on the new screen and to adjust the settings until the patients are happy that it works for them.

If you wish to discuss this in more detail please do not hesitate in contacting me on sarah.davies@budbrookemc.nhs.uk
