"I would like to stay with my doctor now that I have moved"

I have enjoyed the services of my local practice (Rutherglen Health Centre) for a number of years and developed a good relationship with my Doctor over this time but have recently moved a mile outwith the district and have been informed that I am now de-registered with the practice as a result.

The fact that my family have been with this surgery for over twenty years seems to not count. It would seem that much like schools you should be able to have the option to choose which practice you go to.

For the sake of Admin the trusted relationship between a Patient & his/her Doctor is abandoned.

And before you regurgitate "Out of hours Doctors visits" ... I and my family have never used them and if it was serious would visit our local hospital before calling our Doctor. Actually if a Doctor was required NHS 24 would send out the locum on practice for that area and not my Doctor anyway! I contribute to a National Health Service - not a bodge it and bodge it service that is disconnected and disarray.
