"Difficulty in making appointments"

About: Sheffield

(as a service user),

Appointments at this clinic can only be made by phoning on the day of the hoped appointment, first thing in the morning. Appointments can't be made in advance. I feel that this makes a GP doctor's appointment inaccessible to

People who require pre-arranged support or chaperones

People who cannot use the phone

People who need to prepare in any way for GP appointment.

This is especially discriminatory for elderly, vulnerable or disabled persons.

I feel that this is surely in contravention of the equality act.

Further, I have found that these phone calls are rarely answered.

Further, if any reasonable adjustments are available for other means of making an appointment, they are I do not feel they are communicated to service users.
