I was in a state of increasing anxiety about myself and my home life and was referred to Ealing IAPT by my GP. I had a thorough assessment over the phone and began a 16-session course of Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy shortly afterwards with a senior counsellor, Shole. Shole is a highly skilful and intelligent therapist and we were quickly able to focus on realistic goals and to work on my relationships week by week. The therapy provided me with new perspectives on ingrained ways of thinking about my situation and I discovered that there was room for movement and hope where I’d no longer seen any. I found the therapy incredibly helpful and particularly liked the interaction between therapist and patient, which I hadn't come across in other types of psychotherapy. It's a limited course of treatment but it's highly focused and I'm so glad I was able to undertake it.
