"Why is it so hot indoors when it's hot outside?"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Nottingham Recovery College

(as a volunteer/advocate),

When I was in the Involvement Centre at a meeting, the radiators were boiling hot and all the doors had to be open. Why, when it was so hot outside? Surely the NHS wants to save money so why can't the heating be thermostatically controlled. In the Recovery College someone also said this is a problem too.

My concentration was interrupted by having to have the doors open and it was distracting.
I would like you to look into it and see if anything can be done to improve this and the environment.
A waste of energy and finances which could be used more effectively somewhere else.

Hi Mami, thank you for your message and your concern.

We were not aware of there being a problem with the heating system in the Involvement Centre or in the Recovery College. We rely on staff members reporting building faults through our Estates Maintenance Helpdesk.

We have now logged a repair job with our technicians to understand why there is a fault with the heating and then repair it.

All areas at Duncan Macmillan House are thermostatically controlled so it looks like there is a problem with the control system.

We hope to have the problem resolved as soon as we can.

David
