About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department

My quadriplegic wife was taken into Treliske with Sepsis and 2-weeks later for a blood transfusion. Early on the second occasion, I was admitted with atrial fibrilliation.

On all 3 occasions, we were treated utterly professionally, speedily and with courtesy and charm.

The way in which 'informed consent' was sought for my wife's further treatment was an epitome of appropriate intellect and care.

A VERY big thank you to all for saving our lives and for the way you involved us and the respect you showed.

Wow! What amazing feedback, and how proud I am to work at RCHT knowing that we were able to give the care that we aspire to, from beginning to end and on all three of you and your wife's attendances.

It is reassuring to know that even when the hospital is under pressure, the staff are carrying out their work in a professional manner and displaying care and compassion towards their patients. I am particularly pleased that you have commented on the fact that staff were involving you in your care and treatment as this is an area that sometimes unfortunately gets forgotten and is a subject that I have recently been feeding back to my staff in the Emergency department.

Your comments encapsulate many of the Trust's values which we all work towards and strive to achieve, and with so much negative press that the NHS receives, is very much appreciated.
