I have had CFS/ME since 1997 and in 4 years ago I attended the WEL course at Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital and Centre for Integrative Care.
I am now an outpatient. The care I have had there has turned my life around and has been wonderful.
I believe everyone with a similar condition should have the opportunity to receive this quality of care, regardless of where they live and what their income is. I am very concerned in the recent reduction in service and the halving of the number of in-patients beds available, the closure of the hospital at weekends, the complete closure of Pharmacy provision in the hospital & the subsequent fact that many GPs I know of are then refusing to write prescriptions for patients. I don't think this is acceptable and very concerning.
Conditions such as mine do not respond well to conventional drugs and the hospital gave me back hope after many years of despair. I think that others should benefit and the climate of cuts should not be used as an excuse to cut such services.
