"Bad Jokes at my Biopsy"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

The doctor performing my biopsy made several bad jokes, Like who is your next of kin, as things can go bad, They also said let me put my butchers apron on.

I was nervous about my biopsy and he made me feel very uncomfortable. My biopsy was at forth valley royal hospital & I was sickened by his comments and felt scared.

You can contact me by phone on 01324 566523 or alternatively you can email me pauline.donnelly1@nhs.net

Firstly may I whole heartedly apologise for the offence caused at your visit.

I try to keep the visits light hearted as I hope people find this eases their tension. I understand I mis-read the mood completely in your case and I feel I have let you down..

My best intentions have had the opposite effect in your case, and I shall be mindful of this in future.

It really is important to me to hear from my patients, which is why I ask when they are leaving, to give feedback about their experience. It allows me to reflect on the care that I provide, giving me the opportunity to look at how I can do things differently.

Thank you for letting me know, and, again humblest apologies.

David
