My partner had our baby last month and we will never be returning to the maternity wards at the Conquest hospital. Appalling experience. There was zero communication to me and my partner over what was happening, even when things were going wrong. We were treated with no respect, as more of an inconvenience, by staff on the day unit, the labour ward and Frank Shaw ward. On all three wards, assumptions and rude comments were made about us being a same sex couple having a baby with no apologies. We were left feeling deflated and embarrassed. The best service we received off of anyone was off two student nurses - the only ones to treat us with the dignity and respect that the NHS promises to give.
"Absolute embarrassment to the NHS"
