"Care Opinion are selective towards the NHS"

About: Care Opinion

(as the patient),

I have had a few issues with my Health and treatment in the main has been good

however , with I had 3 serious issues with poor practices which added poor health problems due to neglectful staff at senior level) care opinion would refuse to allow it into the system. There were no issue to what was written only the truth and I think my tone in writing was just fine.

Care opinion decided it was not suitable and therefore would not clear my comments for others to see. Indeed 2 of the three reports were about senior management and a Director in the NHS.

I think all Care opinion are interested in are stories that reflect good, Well I suppose that is good in many ways , but don,t ever say something was bad they will ignore you and remove your comments. This report is to tell you how Care opinion and not good at dealing with negative stories...  shame on you lot. I am sure they will refuse this also. Selective they are. It similar to seeing good reports about a food outlet until you eat in the establishment and find you are ill after the meal. Read and decide

Dear blueair1811

Thanks for being in contact with us. I am sorry you're angry about the service we provide.

I appreciate that it can be annoying and frustrating when we edit stories or tell you that we don't feel able to publish your story for some reason. You might already be aware that we have a moderation policy which we use to review all stories and which helps us to try to make consistent decisions. It can be difficult as I am sure you can imagine.

However, if we edit a significant part of your story or if we feel that we are not able to publish the story we should write and tell you why. I can see that I sent an email to you about the story we didn't publish. I explained that as it appeared to be a continuation of one of the other stories we had already published from you, it would be good to add it as a response, rather than a completely new story. I can't see a response from you to that email to give your consent to that, so we have not published at all.

We are really keen to be as transparent as possible about what we do so will consider what we can do to explain things more clearly. It could be that my explanation wasn't as clear as it should have been, and I will think a bit harder about how and what I write.

I know the story we didn't publish happened a while ago now so it might not be right to revisit it but hope that this reassures you for any future stories you might share.

I have to say that I can't agree with your comment "all Care Opinion are interested in are stories that reflect the good". We publish a lot of stories about situations where things did not go well. More people want to share stories which praise the service, care and treatment they've had and thank the staff involved. On average one-third of the stories we publish about Scottish health and care services are critical, two-thirds are positive and on average we do not publish around 5% of the stories we receive.

However I understand the statistics might not make you feel any better about our service but I hope that my explanation and my assurance that we will continue to keep trying to improve will.

Thanks again for being in touch and giving me the opportunity to respond.

I hope you are keeping relatively well.

Best wishes

Gina

I don't agree with you view and you have the right to remove reviews, but my tone in my review was not aggressive just to the point.

You give me the option to withdraw the review and on the other hand, I see that you have selected persons to copy in stated in my review you again have been selective towards the NHS please pass my comments onto the individuals you sent your reply to.

I would close out by saying your opinion matters but only if it suits care opinion's.efforts to redact the truth

Pain and problems can't be heard if you lock them away in a a computer file

I will therefore request proper paperwork that I may send the Scottish Office with an official complaint against care opinion approach.
