My 87 year old mother fell in the street and was later diagnosed with a broken bone in her lower back. She was admitted to Wishaw General Hospital one Friday night in March. She was allowed back home on Monday under the new Discharge to Assess Scheme and the care and support that she received during her hospital stay and more importantly the after care at home was second to none.
On arrival home, Fiona her Occupational Therapist from the Wishaw Rehab Team visited less than 2 hours back home from the hospital and immediately arranged a few household aids to get mum up and about in the house which worked a treat. Fiona and Katrina have been visiting regularly and with their care and support, mum feels well looked after and her quick turnaround to good health again is mainly due to all the support given to her by the Wishaw Team. A job well done ladies, the scheme really works!
