i attended a ct appointment on thurs 28th March. The ct scan was something id had before and i was aware it was a scan with a contrast injection. Having had the scan and injection before, i was extremely relaxed about the whole procedure and relayed this to the staff member who performed the scan. Towards the end of the scan, the contrast was given to me and I immediately felt unusual. I alerted that i needed help and instantly i was taken out of the scan. I sat on the edge of the scan table and vomited, i was light headed, sweating profusely, hyper ventilating, struggling for oxygen and felt extremely unwell and frightened. Within seconds a team of doctors and nurses came to my aid, put me on a bed and wheeled me to a private room where i was given fluids and oxygen. I was treated with the utmost respect and the care i was given was exceptional. After some time i stabilised and i was taken to a ward where i was monitered and again extremely well cared for. The following morning, a doctor came to explain about everything that had happened (anaphylactic shock) and to check how i was and also to explain what happened next. I am extremely grateful to all the staff that went above and beyond to ensure i was safe and cared for and cannot recommend this hospital enough!!
"Excellent hospital"
