My father is in the dementia ward awaiting a place in a nursing home. He has had a series of falls & at the time of this complaint he was to have a member of staff with him all the time to avoid him falling again. On my recent visit I arrived and there was only 2 staff on the ward so he was unsupervised in his chair with a falls monitor. There were supposed to be 5 staff that day. I don’t know why they only had 2. I have found all the staff kind & caring but they are always so busy. More staff are obviously required. How were they supposed to look after all the patients properly with only 2 staff?
