I need a refill on my preventer inhaler.
I've used one for eleven years after coming down with double pneumonia.
Without one I can't breathe well enough to sleep through the night. With one I'm fine.
For some reason they say I need to see a GP (despite having had an asthma check fairly recently).
But the GP can't be booked for a month.
I'll be out of medicine, and there's nothing I can do.
Reception says I can "try" to book an emergency appointment once the inhaler is empty.
I'm not asking for a drug of abuse.
I want to breathe through the night.
Can't get a refill now and do an asthma check later.
Just "no".
I've managed to get a prescription online, thank goodness. Glad I can afford £63. What happens to people who can't?
"So frustrating. Totally inflexible."
