"Complementary therapies"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical Oncology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time and naturally felt very anxious and stressed. I was referred to Elaine, complementary therapist and received wonderful treatments, for example, reiki, Indian head massage and reflexology to help alleviate my side effects during and after chemo. Elaine took time to learn about my diagnosis and to explain what each of the treatments entailed and their benefits. The whole experience was very calming including the environment, the music and most importantly Elaine herself. I only wish I could continue to access the services Elaine provides long term.
