"My daughters mental health"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Community Services / Community Mental Health Team

(as a parent/guardian),

Two and half years ago my daughter who was then 35 was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The reason I am writing this is because you so many negative things about the mental service. I am my daughters carer and without the support of the MHN Thomson and her team.   Without them I do not think I could have coped. She has built a very good relationship with my daughter and tiny steps of progress have been made. I also find that if anything is concerning me I can always call her and she will always find time to speak to me. There is no pussy footing around with her which is the approach needed for my daughter. I am very grateful for her support and very thankful.
