I recently underwent major gynaecological surgery at the QEUH, Glasgow. My post operative care was in Ward 49 in the maternity/gynaecology unit.
Despite all the austerity measures and cut backs to our NHS I was extremely appreciative of the care from all the staff within this ward, the theatre staff prior to my surgery, the anaesthetist and the surgeon. I experienced a team of staff on ward 49 able to work as a ‘team’. Nursing staff were attentive to my needs, caring and interactive. I want to share my experience with other individuals who may find themselves in a similar position to me who may be anxious about surgery and after care. I know I certainly was, but the whole experience was high level input and attentive care. A massive thank you from me and my family.
